Macintosh Outlook Express 5 Email Client Configuration Instructions

Introduction
This will set up your computer to access your Integra Telecom email using Outlook Express 5 for Macintosh. These instructions will walk you through each step of the configuration to help the process move smoothly. It is recommended that these instructions be printed out and set aside for future reference.
Setting up
Close all open windows and running programs.
- Open Outlook Express for Macintosh.
- Click Tools from the menu bar and select Accounts.
- The Accounts window opens.
The contents of the Mail tab should be displayed. You may see an existing account listed here from a previous provider. You can leave it or delete it, whichever applies.
- Click New to add the new account.
- Your Name: Type a name that will display to people you send email to. Click Next (button in lower right corner).
- Internet Email Address: type your email address in the Email address field. Click Next.
- Email Server Names: Pop is the correct incoming mail type.
Incoming mail server: pop.integra.net
Outgoing mail server: smtp.integra.net
Select the "click here for advanced sending options" button.
Put a check next to Override default SMTP port and change the number to 587.
Move the dot to "Log on using" and enter your Email Address for the Account ID and the corresponding Password.
Click Next.
- Internet Mail Logon: type your email user name (ie. user.integra.net).
Password: type in your email password.
Check Save password.
Click Next.
- Congratulations: enter your email address in the Account name field.
Leave the check in Include this account in my "Send & Receive All" schedule.
- Click Finish.
- Close the Account window to continue working with Outlook Express.
Conclusion
Now that the information has been entered into Outlook Express 5 for Macintosh, you should be able to send and receive email without error. If you would like to add another email address to use the same Inbox, just start at the beginning and work through the steps.
Configure POP Email Request Interval
- Click on Tools menu, go to Run Schedule and choose Edit Schedule.
- In the Schedules window, double click on "Send and Receive All."
- Under the "When" heading, change the box that says "Every" to 5 minutes or greater.
- Click OK.
- Close the "Edit Schedules" window.
