If I don't have my own domain name, what names are available for use with my Integra Telecom email address?
Both the integra.net and integraonline.com domains are available for Integra email and are interchangeable so you can use either one. One of the accounts is set up as an alias that forwards messages to the other so you will receive messages that are sent to both email addresses. For example, username@integra.net and username@integraonline.com are effectively equivalent.
Sending Mail
Why am I getting 'Error 553: Domain is not in my list of allowed RCPT hosts' when I try to send email?
This error occurs when you are connected to one Internet provider but are trying to send email through another. Possible scenarios are:
- You are using Integra for your Internet connection and your email is hosted with another provider. In this case you should use smtp.integra.net as your outgoing mail (SMTP) server.
- You are using another provider for your Internet connection but Integra is providing your email. You can send through the Integra server if your email is hosted with Integra, even if your connection is hosted with another company. Please contact Integra ISP Support to help enable SMTP authentication.
Why am I getting a 'Cannot find server' error?
Please check the following:
- Confirm that you have an Internet connection. Open your web browser to see if you can access a web page. If no web pages are available, restore your Internet connection and try again.
- Make sure the mail server name is spelled correctly. It should be: smtp.integra.net
- Close your email program and restart your computer. Try your email again.
- If you are still receiving the error, call ISP support at 866-871-1114 for more assistance.
How can I send email through Integra's mail server when I'm at home or on the road?
In an effort to keep spammers from using our outgoing
(SMTP) server, we only let customers who are connected to
us send email through smtp.integra.net. You can send through the Integra server if your email is hosted with Integra, even if your connection is hosted with another company. Please contact Integra ISP Support to help enable SMTP authentication.
How large of an email message can I send?
Ideally you would not want to send email messages larger then 500KB, especially if the recipients are not aware that they will be receiving a large message. If you need to send a large email message, our network will allow a maximum email size of 30MB, or 30,000,000 bytes. Please note that an email containing an attached file can be a total maximum size of 30MB.
How many addresses can I send to at one time?
Integra limits the number of addresses to which you can send messages to 100. However, once our mail server has sent your message to 30 recipients, you will get stuck in a "Tarpit". "Tarpitting" is a method of discouraging people from sending spam through our network. You may notice that the email process slows down to almost a halt, but your message will continue to send.
Why am I receiving email but people who reply to me are receiving failures?
This happens because of a typo in your email address when you entered it into your email program. Check the account preferences in your email program to correct the error.
Why am I unable to send email from my hotel room?
Sometimes hotel ISPs block the traditional SMTP port that Integra uses for its email transmission to protect against spammers. If you are having problems sending email from your hotel room, you can use Integra's webmail at http://webmail.integra.net instead of your email client as a temporary work around.
Checking Mail
Why is the email program prompting me for a password?
Your user name may be entered into your email program incorrectly. Most of our user names look similar to the email address, but replace the @ symbol with a dot. For example, support@integra.net would be support.integra.net.
Why am I getting a 'Cannot find server' error?
Please check the following:

- Make sure the mail server name is spelled correctly. It should be: pop.integra.net
- Close your email program and restart your computer. Try your email again.
- If you are still receiving the error, call ISP support at 866-871-1114 for more assistance.
Why does my email program download some messages then seems to lock up?
This may be happening for one of the following reasons:
- Your email program is downloading a large message. If you cancel the process, you will receive all of the previously downloaded messages before beginning on the large message again. Try to wait for 5-10 minutes or until you receive a time-out error.
- You may have received a message that is corrupted and will not download. The reason why the same messages keep downloading is that the email program's job is to download all messages before it deletes them from the server. Since the download can't complete, the program won't delete the messages. Simply deleting the message, or messages, off the mail server will clear this up. You can delete the messages from the server by logging on to Integra's WebMail.
Why are my email messages downloading multiple times?.
This may be happening for one of the following reasons:
- If your email client is set to leave copies of messages on the server, this may be causing duplicates. Removing this setting should allow your email program to reset its list of messages on the server.
- You may have two identical email profiles set up in your email program, one of which will need to be deleted. This will not effect the email on your computer that you have already downloaded.
