Integra’s Continues Expansion of Fiber-Based Services for Thousands of Businesses
PORTLAND, Ore., Sept 20, 2011 – Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of fiber-based, businessgrade networking, communications and cloud solutions, broke its monthly benchmark again in August, expanding its fiber-based network by funding 52 capital projects.
Of the 52 projects, 31 will be fiber expansion into new buildings and 21 are capacity augments at existing on-net sites. In total, Integra now has more than 1,700 fiber-fed buildings and 5,000 miles of high-speed long-haul fiber, allowing greater quality, security and infrastructure for business customers.
With Integra’s fiber network, customers can access speeds from 5Mb/s up to 10Gb/s. Services on the network include:
- MEF Certified Ethernet;
- Virtual Private Network (VPN);
- Session Initiation Protocol (SIP); and
- Dedicated Internet Access (DIA).
“We continue to invest resources so that Integra can aggressively grow its fiber network and better help business customers achieve their communications goals,” said Dan Stoll, vice president of business development at Integra Telecom. “By leveraging our existing build process and fiber expansion strategy our customers will have access to customizable, high-bandwidth, fiber-based solutions.”
These additions are part of Integra’s year long, $52 million investment to expand its fiber network and provide both wholesale and retail customers with carrier-class, high-bandwidth products and services. Integra currently operates the most extensive fiber network of any competitive services provider for business in the West.
The recently added buildings are primarily located in the metropolitan areas of Portland, Ore., Seattle, Wash., Phoenix, Ariz., Boise, Idaho, Sacramento, Calif., and Salt Lake City, Utah.
