PORTLAND, Ore., July 12, 2011 – Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of enterprise grade networking and communications solutions running across a highly reliable 3,000 mile metro fiber network, has earned Digium’s Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking Interoperability certification with Digium’s Switchvox SMB unified communications (UC) solution.
This certification enables the Digium UC solution to work seamlessly with Integra’s SIP Trunking. Integra is expanding the number of business phone systems certified to operate with its SIP Trunking service so its business customers can benefit in the following ways:
- Gain more efficient use of bandwidth by combining voice and data networks into a single service
- Receive dynamic bandwidth allocation so that voice is prioritized over data, meaning Internet bandwidth will increase when voice sessions are not in use
- Maximize capacity through multiple compression options that place more calls over the same bandwidth with no need for additional circuits
“Integra is pleased to offer enhanced features and productivity to our business customers through our SIP Trunking Interoperability certification with Digium’s Switchvox SMB,” said Brian Gregory, director of voice and data services at Integra Telecom. “Through this certification, Integra will work even more closely with Digium dealers and businesses with a Switchvox IP-PBX as well as build our portfolio of SIP Trunking services.”
Integra will support Digium’s Switchvox SMB 65, 305 and 355 models.
“Digium’s Switchvox SMB coupled with Integra’s SIP Trunking Service provides a strong basis for unified communications while remaining affordable and easy to use,” said David Hardy, director of business development at Digium.
Through Integra Telecom, businesses can utilize Internet, MPLS, SIP services and other voice lines integrated with state-of-the-art VoIP systems, data services and unified communication applications. Additional information is available by calling 1-866-INTEGRA or visiting Integra's SIP page.
