Integra Telecom Sponsors 5th Annual Providence Newberg Health Foundation Charity Golf Classic
Event Raised More Than $135,000 to Benefit Providence Hope for Children Fund.
PORTLAND, Ore. - Aug. 6, 2007 - For the fifth consecutive year, the employees of Integra Telecom sponsored an annual charity golf classic to raise money for the Providence Newberg Health Foundation's Hope for Children Fund. This year's event was more than double the size of prior years and featured 288 golfers. The Integra Telecom sponsored event has raised more than $297,000 to date. This year's tournament took place at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha, Ore., on July 30, and raised more than $135,000 in proceeds for the foundation.
"It was a pleasure to once again coordinate the Providence Newberg Health Foundation's Annual Charity Golf Classic," said Mike Daniel, senior vice president of Integra Telecom of Oregon, Inc. "The Hope for Children Fund truly makes a difference in Integra's communities. We are pleased that this year's golf classic once again drew a large attendance and donation for the organization."
Providence Newberg Medical Center Charity Care Statistics
Providence Newberg Medical Center has provided approximately 33,000 hours of charity care so far this year. In 2006, Providence Newberg Medical Center provided $3.79 million in free care to 1,866 of the community's most needy patients, including 295 children. The Hope for Children Fund benefits pediatric therapy services of Providence Newberg Rehabilitation. Gifts to the fund are used to defray the health care expenses for children with developmental disabilities who can greatly benefit from ongoing therapeutic care.
