PHOENIX- August 2, 2006 - Electric Lightwave is now a subsidiary of Integra Telecom, an integrated communications carrier dedicated to providing a better choice for businesses.

The final agreement and transfer of company ownership was completed July 31.

The newly combined company will employ more than 40 telecommunications professionals in Phoenix, operate hundreds of miles of metro fiber networks and serve thousands of small and mid-sized businesses. Electric Lightwave's Arizona headquarters is located at 8181 S 48th St., Phoenix, AZ, 85004.

The combined company is one of the largest competitive telecommunications carriers in the West, generating over $300 million in annual revenue from thousands of business customers across its eight states, including Arizona, California, Idaho, Minnesota, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Executive Appointments Announced

Mark Geiselmayr was appointed senior vice president for Integra Telecom of Arizona; formerly he was the senior vice president for Integra Telecom of Utah. Geiselmayr will be responsible for the overall performance of local operations. Christine Morris was appointed to vice president of sales; formerly she was branch manager for Electric Lightwave's Phoenix market. Additionally, Alan Lee was appointed vice president of customer care for Integra Telecom of Arizona; formerly he was the director of customer service for Integra Telecom of Oregon.

"Integra's unique and highly responsive service model is built on the foundation of staffing our care and technical employees locally, close to the customer. This unique business model demands local leadership," said Dudley Slater, CEO of Integra Telecom. "We look forward to providing our new customers in Arizona with exceptional service that is tailored to businesses. That is what Integra is known for."

Branding

The combined company will operate under the Integra Telecom name. Going forward, the Electric Lightwave name will refer only to the company's carrier-to-carrier network services and sales operation.

Former ELI Customers Begin Seeing Integra Telecom Name

Current Electric Lightwave customers will soon receive welcome kits from Integra Telecom; they will also begin seeing the new company name on all forms of communication. Customers' rates and services will not be impacted as a result of this transaction.

"We're positioned to be the premiere provider of competitive telecom and data services for businesses in the Western U.S.," said Slater.
