"You just never know who's going to be in the car." For the chauffeurs at Denver Lincoln Limousine, that's just one of many unknowns they encounter every day.
Denver Lincoln Limo founder A.C. "Andy" Poppenberg III knows that every day brings uncertainty - last second travel changes, unpredictable weather conditions, and the whims of high-profile clients. But Poppenberg knows his company's role is to provide a reliable experience for his customers - a safe ride that's on time and to the right destination.
Since starting with four Lincoln Town Cars in 1988, Poppenberg has grown his fleet to 12 vehicles in a variety of styles, including SUVs, vans, and of course, Town Cars and stretch limos. Each is equipped with real-time GPS tracking, DriveCam video cameras, and satellite radio. For high-profile assignments, the company employs its Class II security vehicles with run-flat tires and impact-resistant glass.
Of course, with great responsibility come interesting rewards, too. "Being a limousine chauffeur means having an all-access pass into the lives of the super-wealthy and influential," says Poppenberg. The signed photos of past customers like Kevin Costner, George Carlin, and Peter Jennings hanging on their office walls affirm his sentiments.
But Denver Lincoln Limo isn't just known for transporting celebrities and athletes. They've become a preeminent emergency medical transportation partner often shuttling physicians and sometimes, live organs to waiting hospitals. Their real-time GPS monitoring pinpoints the progress of the vehicle, enabling hospitals to schedule their life-saving procedures more accurately.
When his previous communications provider couldn't accommodate a planned move of his dispatch center in 2008, Poppenberg was introduced to Integra Telecom. "I was left in a lurch," recalls Poppenberg. "I only had a couple weeks to pull it off, and Integra was up to the task."
Now, Integra's T-1 services connect his dispatch office across town with the main garage, distributing his phone system and servers for flexibility and redundancy. "Integra was instrumental in getting the appropriate equipment, circuits, and services to the right places. I can't thank them enough," Poppenberg concludes.
